It's THAT Time of The Year Again - CHRISTMAS!

Dear Youth Impact-ers,

Christmas is coming in about 1.5 months time and I couldn't be more excited!

There's the peppermint drinks, gorgeous decorations, snowflakes AND gifts!

We have been celebrating Christmas, YI-style for two years running now (if my memory serves me right) and this year is no different.

We will be hosting our very own Christmas Celebration to wrap up 2011 in style!

It will be our final youth meeting for the year and can I encourage you... Bring a friend.

We have spoken all year of the 3G-s: Growing, Glowing and Going. If you have not remembered any of the sermons, we (Uncle Vive, Lin Ken, Aaron and I) forgive you. No sweat.

But, it is not too late to put the 3G-s into action.

Can I challenge you to make it count before 2011 comes to an end? Invite a friend for this event, it could be the one evening that will change the life of your friend, forever.

I'm looking forward to be back, celebrating Christmas with all of you - caroling, gifts-giving (Did I mention that we have an awesome door gift this year? If I didn't, YES, we do!) and dining together on December 17th.

Growing in the Lord

Growing is a natural process that must occur in our daily lives. We grow from being an infant to adulthood over a certain period of time. Yet, not too many people have come to the realization of this fact. For instance, if a child refuses to grow, the parent will not be happy and very concerned. For sure they will seek all medical help to understand why their child is not growing.

Spiritual growth is equally important as physical growth. 2 Peter 3:18 says "But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ". Important to note that God becomes your spiritual father when you give your life to Christ (John 1:12). So God becomes unhappy when you as his child refuse to grow just as a natural father will not be happy with his kid who has refused to grow. The Christian faith is a personal walk with God which requires a deliberate choice to undertake. You do not just grow because you get born again, but you grow because you hunger and thirst after it; Matthew 5:6 says "Blessed are they that do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled".

There is an exact parallel between physical growth and spiritual growth—except perhaps that spiritual growth is less measurable. Spiritual growth cannot be demonstrated by marks on a door-frame. Still, there are many similarities. When we come to know Jesus Christ as our Savior, we receive a new nature, and we become God's children—spiritual infants. All the potential for our spiritual life is given to us at the moment we trust Christ, because the Holy Spirit comes to live within us, never to leave us. At point of salvation, we start our "bottle-feeding" process of being a disciple. Being taught the basic elementary teaching of Christianity. However, this "bottle-feeding" is not supposed to go on for a lifetime. As you grow in your understanding, you will become able to digest and assimilate the meat of God's Word on your own. You'll be able to study and apply the Scripture for yourself.

God's goal for each of His children is maturity. Paul wrote in Ephesians 4:12-13, "Prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ" .

Grow in the Lord. Grow towards the potential that God has planted in your lives.

Purity

In the forests of northern Europe and Asia lives a little animal called the ermine, known for his snow-white fur in winter. He instinctively protects his white coat against anything that would soil it.

Fur hunters take advantage of this unusual trait of the ermine. They don’t set a snare to catch him, but instead they find his home, which is usually a cleft in a rock or a hollow in an old tree. They smear the entrance and interior with grime. Then the hunters set their dogs loose to find and chase the ermine. The frightened animal flees toward home but doesn’t enter because of the filth. Rather than soil his white coat, he is trapped by the dogs and captured while preserving his purity. For the ermine, purity is more precious than life.

How do we handle our purity in Christ Jesus? This is the question we have to ask ourselves every day. Do we compromise our faith for the sake of convenience? Or do we watch pornography on the internet, magazine or TV for the sake of entertainment? Do we back down from what we believe in Jesus for the sake of not being left out by the “in-crowd”?

We would do well to take a lesson from the ermine when it comes to purity. Are we careful about our reading material, our viewing habits and the company we keep? Or are we entertained by the impurity that surrounds us?

Purity may seem to be a thing of the past, but rest assured, it is still ever bit as much worth fighting for as it ever has been. We need to be diligent in guarding our purity.

In John 15:13, Jesus taught His disciples that no greater love exists than for a person to lay down their life for another person. I am certain the disciples all nodded their heads and acknowledged their factual understanding of that statement. perhaps they even thought of family members or friends and wondered whether they would be able to lay down their life for them. However, Christ did not leave them to wonder whether there was anyone willing to do this for them.

Shortly after making this statement He went out and showed them His love by actually laying down His life in their place. This one display of love was beyond anything these men had ever before encountered. They may not have fully comprehended what was happening at the time, but as their understanding grew, so did the impact this event had on their lives and their ministries.

However, Christ's sacrifice was not limited to the inner circle of the disciples. His love extends to each of us as well. The fact that God loved us enough to be willing to die for us is in reality more than we can comprehend. He was not obligated, or compelled from some sense of duty. His actions were motivated completely out of love, not just for mankind as a whole, but for each of us as individuals.

The most beautiful part of why Christ died at Calvary was that He died there for us. It is sad to think it was necessary, but comforting beyond words to know He was willing to do whatever was required, up to and including dying, in order to have a relationship with us. His love for us is not merely a bunch of words in a book, but a reality expressed in the most visible and memorable fashion possible. Never was any statement more true than the words of the familiar song -

"At the cross I bow my knee
Where Your blood was shed for me
There's no greater love than this
You have overcome the grave
Your Glory fills the highest place
What can separate me now?"

Satan will fight you tooth and nail to keep you from your daily meeting with the Lord. He hates nothing more than seeing a Christian getting down to business with God, because he knows that such believers are dangerous to his kingdom of darkness. Watch out for these problems:

The Battle of the Blankets

Almost every morning you will be tempted to hit the snooze button and sleep in and shorten or miss your time with God. Resist at all costs! Go to bed early enough and with thoughts of Scripture (the night before leave your Bible open to the passage you'll read in the morning) and get out of bed immediately when you wake up!

Concentration

Your mind will easily wander. Make sure you are ready. Try praying out loud in a whisper to help you stay alert when sleepy. Avoid having your quiet time in bed. Take a shower, drink some coffee, and keep a notebook handy so that when your mind wanders to a task that you need to do that day you can write it down, and then forget about it until later. Take control of wandering thoughts. Keep bringing your mind back with quiet firmness and without scolding yourself.

Dry Seasons

Sometimes you won't feel like you are getting anything out of your daily devotions. Just realize that obedience to truth is more important than following your emotions. Feelings come and go but the Word of the Lord endures forever (1 Peter 1:25). If you only had a quiet time when you felt like it, the devil would make sure you never felt like it. Dryness can be caused by:

Disobedience - is there unconfessed sin in your life?
Your Physical Condition - Are you getting enough rest?
Rushing - Don't try to do too many things. Be simple.
Routine - You have to watch out for staleness.
Selfishness - Start sharing your insights with others. Don't hog them!

Satan's most vicious attacks will come in connection with your desire to be diligent in your quiet time. He knows that if he can keep you out of the Word, he has defeated you. If he can keep you from spending quality time with the Lord at the start of a day, then he's won the battle. Expect these types of attacks. Dropping your quiet time is usually the first step in spiritual backsliding. You must persevere!

Picture this — you come home from a long day at school/college — you walk into your living room — plop down on the couch in exhaustion — and there in the corner of the room — your eyes are drawn to something moving — it’s a cobra snake! Do you say to yourself, “Oh, I’m too tired to worry about that now, I’ll deal with it later?” Of course not! You’d jump up right away, find a bat or something of the like, alert your family, call the neighbors, call the fire department and who knows what else! It’s a life-threatening situation!

In the same way, we need to consider it an emergency when a negative thought enters our minds! We immediately need to jump up, put our armor on, alert others and ask for help if needed and take cover in the promises of God! When those unrighteous thoughts enter our minds, we must deal with them immediately — lest they linger and fester — and before we know it, poison our entirety. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 says - The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Sadly this is a battle that continuously rages on. We must renew our minds daily — and even hourly in order to remain in a place of peace. Let’s not wait ’till the enemy has us in his grip! Let’s put him in his place at the first sign of attack!

Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you."

One evening an old Red Indian man told his grandson about a battle that goes on in every person. He said, “My son, the battle is between two ‘wolves’. One is evil — it is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is good — it is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith.”

The grand son thought for a minute and then asked his grandfather: “Which wolf wins?”

The old Red Indian simply replied, “The one you feed.”

Proverbs 11:3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.

Bobby Jones was one of the greatest golfers to ever compete, uniquely known for winning the “Grand Slam” of golf winning all four major tournaments in the U.S. and Britain in a single year. In 1925, early in his career, having reached the final playoff in the U.S. Open, at a certain point in the match, Jones was setting up to strike his ball which was in the rough just off the fairway. His iron accidentally touched the ball. He immediately became angry with himself, turned to the marshals, and called a penalty on himself.

But the marshals had not seen the ball move, so they left the decision to Jones, whether to invoke the penalty — a two-stroke penalty. Bobby called the penalty on himself, not knowing that he would lose the tournament by a single stroke.

When praised for his honesty, he replied, “You may as well praise a man for not robbing a bank!” Jones may have lost the tournament, but his character was legendary and today the United States Golf Association’s award for sportsmanship is known as the “Bobby Jones Award.”

It’s been said, “Character is what you do when nobody is watching. Character is how you treat people who can do absolutely nothing for you. Character is how you react when the pressure is on. Character is deciding beforehand that you are going to do the right thing.”

Every day we’re faced with decisions — many of which are made when no one is watching, at least no one we can see. But let’s purpose in our hearts to do the right thing — because character truly counts. We may not see the dividends immediately — but be assured that God is keeping track of our decisions, and He will make good on every one

Yo Youth Impact.....What's up and how is first week of school? Trust you are enjoying it and living up to your name, Youth Impact, by impacting your friends and peers.

Just had a thought this morning. In your opinion, how important is Youth Impact meeting? Just another meeting? Why do you faithfully come to youth meeting every Saturday?

Do you know that Youth meeting is as important as any other church service. In fact it is church service in action among the young people. You are important because the church sees the young people as the future backbone of the church and one day you will take over the baton from the seniors and becomes leaders of the church.

Speaking of the importance of Christian gathering, Paul writes: "There should be no division...its parts should have equal concern for each other...each one of you is a part of it" (1 Cor 12:25-27). Every Youth Impact members are part of Christ's body, the church. You are important.

Watchman Nee says, "Alone I cannot serve the Lord effectively, and He will spare no pains to teach me this. He will bring things to an end, allowing doors to close and leaving me effectively knocking my head against a wall until I realise that I need the help of the body, as well as of the Lord."

There are truths taught in God's house that you won't hear anywhere else. In church, you'll find a Spiritual family to belong to, a faith to live by, and a focus that gets your eyes where they should be - on Christ!

Work Hard Play Harder

I bet everybody has heard of this

phrase numerous times.
But when you come to think of it, this is what our activities are about. It’s either work or play.

For the life of a student, studying is kinda considered as work (if you consider it as play.. you're insane =P lol), along with house chores and a part-time job; any activities other than those are considered as play.

For the life of a working adult, your job is your work and anything that is not related to your job is play.

My question for you all is; In a world that separates activities into Work and Play, where does spending time with God fit in?
Is it Work? Or is it Play?

Our icebreaker started off with a little game. You can try it yourself: if you’re a right-hander, turn your right leg clockwise in circles. At the same time, you must draw the number six with your right hand. Sounds easy, but no one managed to do it…
After that, we had a fun time playing hide-and-seek. All of us are still kids at heart. = P
It seems that finding good hiding places in the church to hide was hard and rare. No pictures were taken because everyone was busy hiding. Sorry!

Today’s message was shared by Uncle Vive. It was about The Veil (Exodus 26:31-33) which divided the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place.

The colors used in the Veil paints a portrait of Jesus and who He is.

Blue = color of the sky and reminds us of the heavenly origin of Jesus, the Son of God. (Rom 8:3, 1 Tim 3:16)
Scarlet = color of blood and represents Jesus as the Lamb of God, the perfect sacrifice for all of our sins. (Rev 1:5, John 15:13)
Purple = color of royalty which speaks of Jesus as the King of Kings (Isa 9:6-7, Rev 19:16)
= a mixture of blue and red that symbolizes Jesus as God and man.
The cloth used was pure, white linen = purity of Jesus Christ who is sinless (1 Pet 2:22, 2 Cor 5:21)
The cloth was to be twined and made by a skilled man = the cloth was to be weaved specially.

The purpose of the veil:

It served as a warning = not to trespass the Most Holy Place.
The cherubim were a guardian of the holiness of God (Gen 3:24).
It served as a wall. (Lev 16:2, Isa 59:2)
It served as a way.
It served as a witness.

The Veil was not meant as a barrier between the Israelites and God, but as protection for them so that they will not be consumed by His holy fire.
Now, we can come to God without any veils or barriers to hide behind. The question is; has the veil really been torn in your life?

After our praise and worship, it was time to feed our spiritual man. Today’s speaker is none other than Aunty Felicia. Her message was a continuation about the tabernacle bible study. It was entitled “The Golden Altar of Incense” (Exodus 30:1-10, 34-38; 37:25-29).

- The Altar measured 1 cubit (1.5 feet) square and 2 cubits (3 feet) high.

- 2 poles made of acacia wood were put through 2 gold rings on opposite sides for transporting purposes.
- It was made of acacia wood and overlaid with pure gold = the two-fold nature of Jesus (fully man and God).
- There is a golden crown around the top = symbolizes Jesus crowned with glory and honor. (Hebrews 2:9)
- 4 horns protruded from the 4 corners = signifies God’s power and authority

- The horns were sprinkled with blood to cleanse the sins of the Israelites = power of Jesus’ blood when we confess our sins and ask for forgiveness (1 John 1:9)
- The Golden Altar was just outside the Holy of Holies and positioned centrally in front of the veil between the Golden Lamp stand.
- The priest would burn sweet incense on the Golden Altar every morning and evening besides tending to the lamps.

- We can keep burning for Jesus by having a regular life of reading the Bible and praying with the revelation of Jesus Christ.
- The Golden Altar is only used to burn incense which is made of equal amounts of 4 spices (stacte, onycha, galbanum, and frankincense).
- Only he/she who has a pure heart and clean hands (Ps 24:3-4; James 4:8) can come before a holy God.

- The Golden Altar represents Jesus who is our intercessor before God in heaven (Romans 8:34; Heb 7:25) and all of us should be interceding here on earth too (Num 16:41-50).

Our church was saddened to learn this week of the death of one of our most valued members, Someone Else. Someone's passing creates a vacancy that will be difficult to fill. Else has been with us for many years and for every one of those years, Someone did far more than a normal person's share of the work.

Whenever there was a job to do, a class to teach, or a meeting to attend, one name was on everyone's list, "Let Someone Else do it." Whenever leadership was mentioned, this wonderful person was looked to for inspiration as well as results; "Someone Else can work with that group."
It was common knowledge that Someone Else was among the most liberal givers in our church. Whenever there was a financial need, everyone just assumed Someone Else would make up the difference.
Someone Else was a wonderful person; sometimes appearing superhuman. Were the truth known, everybody expected too much of Someone Else. Now Someone Else is gone! We wonder what we are going to do. Someone Else left a wonderful example to follow, but who is going to follow it? Who is going to do the things Someone Else did?
When you are asked to help do anything, anywhere this year, remember -- we can't depend on Someone Else anymore.

For starters, we started off with a great and funny icebreaker led by Win Shern. Everyone was practically running around trying to get to the things mentioned. Especially when the things were rare and hard to be found… in the end, all of us had fun although Lin Ken’s head might be squashed by that time. = P Enjoy the pictures.

After our praise and worship, we continued on our fifth lesson of the tabernacle shared by Sis. Sathy. The title of today’s lesson is on The Table of Shewbread (Exo. 25:23-30; 37:10-16 and Lev 24:5-9).

The Table of Shewbread was in the Holy Place on the north side. It was on your right as you entered the Holy Place. The Table of Shewbread means The Table of The Bread of The Presence because fresh bread was to be served on this Table before God’s Presence constantly.

The measurements of this Table were 2 cubits (36 inches) long and 1 cubit (18 inches) wide which signifies the witness of the Holy Spirit and the Word. We need both of them because the Spirit enlightens the Word to us. The Table also measured 1 ½ cubit (27 inches) high that shows the lack in fullness of God. The Table was made of acacia wood and overlaid with gold. It tells us of Jesus who is the perfect man and God.

Around the Table of Shewbread was a rim of ledge measuring a span wide. The Table was also bordered by two rows of gold moldings or crowns. The crowned border was supposed to guard the bread from falling off the Table. When God tells us of our High Priest, Jesus; He does not say robed with glory and honor, but CROWNED with glory and honor (Heb 2:9).
The border speaks of the separation between us and God and His ways.
- 1 Corinthians 10:21 = separation from idolatry
- 2 Corinthians 6:17-18 = separation from the world
- Psalms 23:5 = this was a table God prepared for David.

Four poles of acacia wood overlaid with gold were slotted through four rings attached to the four legs of the Table. The poles were used to carry the Table when the Israelites moved around.

12 unleavened loaves of bread were placed on the Table, one for each tribe showing that Jesus loves all of us equally.
The loaves were made from flour = The Lord partook of the Adamic nature. (Luke 1:32).
The breads were made of fine flour which must be crushed, grounded and shifted = Jesus went through the sifting of Satan’s temptation (Matt 4:1-11), the religious leaders’ testing (Matt 22:15-40) and scourging (Matt 27:26-30, 33-50).
After being grounded, the flour was bake with fire = the fiery trial of Divine allowed testing.
The word cake (Lev24:5) = Kawlan in Hebrew means to be punctured or wounded which pictures the sufferings of Christ (Isa 53:5-7).
The loaves were baked with oil = Scriptural symbol of the Spirit and Word, anointed dedication of Jesus life and service offered to His Father.
The breads were unleavened = Leaven is the symbol of sin while Jesus did no sin (1 Pet 2:22).
Frankincense was put on the bread = Jesus had the sweet fragrance in all that He said and did.

The loaves were replaced every Sabbath with new ones. This signifies the renewal of the covenant with God through the baptism. The old ones were eaten by the priests. Only the priests can eat this bread and only in the Holy Place. The table and bread are pictures of God’s willingness to fellowship and have communion with us.

God desires for us to be enlightened by the Holy Spirit and we need to go into a deeper and closer walk with Him. This can only happen when we partake of Him, the Bread of Life through the Living Word of God. Once we have his Word enlightened to us in our lives through the Holy Spirit, we can know more of His will and how to approach Him with our prayers and petitions at the Altar of Incense.

If you’ve been following our blog, you would know that we’re currently doing a study on the Tabernacle.

This week we’re at lesson number four which is about the Golden Lamp Stand. The Golden Lamp Stand is one of the three objects that can be found in the Holy Place (the second part of the Tabernacle). There’s no natural light in this place. The only light comes from the Golden Lamp Stand, which represents Jesus, our Light (John 9:5).

The Golden Lamp Stand has a centre shaft with 3 branches on each side, making it a 7-pronged Lamp Stand. Each branch has 3 groups of almond blossom cups complete with buds and flowers except the middle shaft which has 4 almond blossom cups. The actual dimensions of the Lamp Stand were not given, but its size, weight and beauty portrays the indescribable greatness of Christ.

The Lamp Stand weighs a talent of pure gold (which is 114 pounds) and is hammered into shape by hand without using a mould. Isn’t it amazing? The gold represents the deity of Christ while the hammering into shape of the Lamp Stand symbolizes the suffering of Jesus.

As mentioned above, the Golden Lamp Stand with its 7 lamps lights up the Holy Place; giving light to the priest to do his priestly duties, to enjoy the bread from the showbread and the smell of incense from the altar of incense (both of which will be discussed in weeks to come).

The Golden Lamp Stand symbolizes Jesus as the Light of the world and the Light of our lives that will deliver us from all darkness and death. Christ in us (light) causes us to feed on the Word (bread) and offer prayers (incense) unto God.

Every morning and evening, Aaron, the High Priest, and his sons would fill the lamps with pure olive oil to ensure that the light would shine brightly. They would also trim the wicks so that the lamps would burn with a bright rounded flame. If the wicks are lopsided or defective, then the lamps would burn with smoky or flickering flames.

We are like the wicks of God that must be willing to burn for God; to be God’s channels that manifest His light through us, for we have no light of our own. The trimming of the wicks typified the daily cleansing of our Christian walk.

The branches of the Lamp Stand typified the churches, the visible body of Christ. The believers are all directly attached to Jesus, the Source of light. The pure olive oil typified the Holy Spirit as the glowing light of illumination and revelation.

Special Meeting with Rev. Ong Sek Leang - Cancelled

We’re back! After a week break because of our church’s anniversary.
Our icebreaker was a common game, yet never seem to grow tired of playing it.
Below are some pictures that were taken. Enjoy looking at the pictures and laugh at yourself or other people's weird and funny expressions. = p

After many laughs, it was time to jump around and lift our hands to praise and worship our indescribable God.

Following the worship session, it was time for preaching by Pastor Esther. But horrors out of horrors, we had to sit for a quiz. (It was more like an exam, actually.) After many minutes of cracking our brains trying to remember what was taught in the previous weeks, we had to pass up our papers. (phew!!!)
Only the top 10 people with the most number of correct answers received presents. Congrats to the 10 guys and gals! Then, it was time for the 3rd lesson of the Tabernacle… and that is The Laver!!! (Exodus 30:17-21)

The laver could only be used by the priests. No usage allowed for people like us. It was a place where the priests cleaned themselves before entering the Holy Place and to wash the sacrifices.
For your information, now, we are all priests, and so, must wash ourselves daily by the Word of God. While washing ourselves with the Word, our real selves are revealed and as we progress on, we are changed from glory to glory into God’s likeness. When we are clean, we can then offer our worship and service to God.

There was no ice-breaker today. So we started off with an amazing time of praise and worship led by Woan Sein. Next up, was the second lesson by Bro. Vive. Today’s lesson was about the brazen altar – the altar of sacrifice. The texts are taken from Exodus 27:1-8, 38:1-7.

The brazen altar is made out of acacia wood and overlaid with bronze. The bronze here refers to God’s judgment on Jesus for all of our sins.

The altar was used to sacrifice animals as a temporary atonement for the Israelites’ sins.
It actually symbolizes Jesus who is our atonement.

The altar had 4 horns which were symbols of salvation for mankind.

The fire on the altar cannot go out whether day or night. And so, Jesus is ever ready to forgive our sins whenever we come to Him.

Let’s take time to be thankful that Jesus became the sacrifice on the altar for us. Now, we don’t have to bring lambs and bulls to church to ask for forgiveness. And, Jesus’ sacrifice for forgiveness of our sins is PERMANENT!!! Be glad about it!

Our Youth Impact Meeting started off with a fun ice-breaker led by Win Shern. Remember the game “Catcher and Hitter”??? The game that got everyone rolling on the floor, laughing? Well, unfortunately, no pictures were taken because the photography guy was busy handling the ice-breaker. = ( we have a short video, though... enjoy it! ; P

Today was the first lesson about the Tabernacle. It was entitled “The Construction of The Tabernacle” shared by Pastor Geoffrey. The verses for today are Exodus 25:1-9 and 35:4-9. Below are a few pointers about this lesson:

The Tabernacle consists of THREE parts.

All the furnishings and materials of the Tabernacle have their own special symbolic meanings that referred to Jesus. (To find out their meanings, refer to your notes given) ; P
The Tabernacle was created because God wanted to live among His people. Yet, God is not confined in this Tabernacle as He is omnipresent.
The Tabernacle was so much simpler compared to Solomon’s temple but the Tabernacle was the one that was constantly used as the reference point in the NT.
This shows that while we are busy pursuing excellence, we should never forget the simplicity of our relationships with God.

Lastly, the message of the Tabernacle is that all believers in Christ have become God’s dwelling place.

Inter Cell Tournament on 20 September 2008

Today was all about having fun and nothing else. Over 50 youths were present in the Red Crescent Hall to participate in our Inter-cell Tournament. It was a competition between the four cell groups in Youth Impact, hence the event name.
Below is a list of the groups that participated.
Cell group 1: Champions and Heroes (not Rachel 1 and 2) = P
Cell group 2: All Stars
Cell group 3: Rallied and United
Cell group 4: Dumbo and Zeal of Fire

Youths started coming at 2 pm. When almost everyone was present, there was a briefing by Sam and Deswyn. Then, all the guys and gals got into their groups and got to know their team-mates and team captain. At 2.30 pm, the tournament started off with the captain ball game first. Everyone was excited, gearing for their turns to play. Excitement could be seen on many people faces. Cheers could be heard in the hall… each team cheering for their team-mates battling on the battle ground. The euphoria was so much that it was contagious. Sweat started flowing as water became the next needed thing to live. Then, it was the play-offs for the final. There was a penalty shootout between cell group 1 and cell group 4. It was a tense moment, not very tense like the football matches in Euro 2008, but tense enough to get everyone’s attention and silence with only the occasional sounds of the ball bouncing on the floor.
At last, it was the final!! Cell group 4 VS Cell group 3!!! The final was truly a great game with Cell group 3 trooping out as the deserved winners. Cell group 4 was a group to be feared too although it consists mainly of girls.

After the prize-giving to the winners of the captain ball game and photography sessions, it was time for the next game…. FLOOR BALL!!! Yup, the day hasn’t ended yet. The floor ball game had fewer people on court compared to the captain ball game. As the game progressed, the youths started getting tired. Some were seen breathing with long labored breaths. Red faces were a common sight to behold as well as sweaty and smelly t-shirts. However, the players continued playing; giving their all for their team and cell group even though they would prefer to sleep in their nice cozy beds. Final results: Cell group 2 emerged as the champions. Runner-up 1 was Cell group 4 while Cell group 1 was runner-up 2.

After the floor ball prize-giving, it was time to announce the Overall winner… and the prize or rather the hamper, goes to….. Cell Group 1!!! It was now around 6 pm and time to go home. After clearing and cleaning up the hall, everyone headed home feeling happy and joyful albeit sore muscles. Truly, today was a day where everyone enjoyed themselves even after playing their hearts and legs out. A day where smiles could be seen and laughter heard out loud. Friendships were built among all ages and sexes. It was a day where lives were touched and non-Christians reached out to. But, most importantly, God’s presence was present in this four walls and He was glorified throughout the entire day.

Finally, the long awaited arrival of our beloved Sis Yean May to preach once again in our Youth Impact meeting arrived…. And what she spoke to all of us was so simple, yet astounding, rejuvenating our spirits!
And in case you people have forgotten her message which was entitled “HOLY SPIRIT”, this is a summary of everything:

Excitement in the House of God

We had a great youth impact service last Saturday. The presence of God was real since the start of the service through the alter call. We praise that one of our new friend accepted Christ on Saturday.

Tsu, welcome to the family of Christ. We rejoice and celebrate together with you on the decision that you made. We pray that God will reveal Himself to you more and more everyday and guide you through your Christian walk .

For the rest of who miss the weekly meeting, we are going through the series on the life of Samson. Don’t miss next Saturday for another exciting Lesson on Samson’s life. Our speaker next Saturday will be Rev. Geoffrey.

I believe the outin' was a successful one and everyone had fun.. great fun indeed. A total 45 participants if i'm not mistaken signed up for this outin'. And its truly worth the money!(where can you find 10 bucks outin' for all the food and transportation provided lah?). Again, a BIG THANK YOU to our church for providin' all that we needed. And to the organizer too=P haha...

Hey hey hey...its our very own brand new YI blog! A beginnin' of a new and fresh journey! Things are just gettin' excited as God leading us through each of every day's life, reavealin' His purpose in our life and bringin' us to greater heights! May this be a great start in the world of bloggin' from us, YI to the unsaved!!

How should the ball starts roolin' for us here? Hmmm...maybe we should share what is YI for, why we are here and doin' what we are doin'...

Isn't it great that we have a great purpose in life to live for? I hope we did lead by example carryin' these in our heart in our walk of life. And for the "why we are doin' what we are doin'?". Its simple, we serve a BIG GOD!
